Marcey Waters
Marcey L. Waters grew up in California and earned a B.A. in Chemistry from UCSD in 1992. She earned a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry in 1997 from the University of Chicago with Professor Bill Wulff. She was an NIH postdoctoral fellow with Professor Ronald Breslow at Columbia University from 1997-1999 and started her independent career UNC Chapel Hill in 1999. She is currently the Glen H. Elder, Jr., Distinguished Professor of Chemistry. She served as president of the American Peptide Society from 2017-2019 and is currently on the executive board of the APS as the immediate past-president.
