Seino Jongkees
Seino Jongkees is Assistant Professor in the department of Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Amsterdam Institute of Molecular and Life Sciences. He received a PhD from the University of British Columbia on mechanistic studies of carbohydrate-active enzymes, then a JSPS post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Tokyo on mRNA display and genetic code reprogramming. In 2016 he established his own research group at Utrecht University before being recruited to VU Amsterdam at the beginning of 2021. Research in the group focuses on mRNA display, often with covalent modification, and applying this to targets across cancer, immunology, and infectious diseases.
