This presentation will introduce the recently established Australian Research Council (ARC) Centre of Excellence for Innovations in Peptide and Protein Science (CIPPS). CIPPS consists of 14 lead investigators at 6 Australian research organisations, 8 partner investigators at 7 overseas institutions, and 11 industry partners. I will provide an overview of the broad objectives of CIPPS, our envisioned centre-wide activities, and opportunities for collaboration with CIPPS.
I will demonstrate the collaborative nature of the CIPPS research program by describing the discovery of a peptide-drug candidate in one CIPPS lab, its production via chemical ligation in another CIPPS lab, and its ‘downsizing’ in the laboratory of a CIPPS partner investigator.
